The new year began and we are happy about it! But let’s first take a nostalgic look back at the best moments of 2015 at the Avenue Montaigne. The year started with the Paris Fashion Week in january and its extraordinary flair. It was a moment full of emotions with the presented styles at the shows and the street styles spotted everywhere in the city.
Once more, magic was to be seen on the catwalks with remarkable accessories…the dog necklace made out of big pearls is the new jewel must-have from Chanel. And the belt worn at the waist redefines the silhouette.
The Italian fashion houses either unveil the feminine silhouette or they hide it, but never without elegance…

Several of the fashion houses from the Avenue Montaigne have created their own exhibitions. One of those magical moments was the Louis Vuitton show at the Grand Palais: « Volez, Voguez, Voyagez ».
Who doesn’t remember the Casino Chanel ?
The fashion house Dior knew how to stay in the limelight this year and published the movie « Dior et Moi » (Dior and I). The film was released in July 2015. Thanks to the documentary by Frédéric Tcheng, we are now able to take a look behind the scenes of the big fashion house: The everyday life of creatives and artists as we have never seen it before. Accompany Raf Simons, who became the artistic director of Dior in April 2012 after John Galliano had left the fashion label, in his challenging task to design his whole first haute couture collection in only eight weeks. The 44-year-old Belgian stylist, known for his minimalistic style, took up the biggest challenge of his career as a Creator with the help of lots of busy hands. The well observing camera of Frédéric Tcheng offers us a captivating and colorful portrait of Raf Simons and his cooperators of Dior, one of the most mystical French fashion houses.
Nina Ricci presented the Autumn/ Winter collection 2015 designed by their new creative director Guillaume Henry, whose style revives the spirit of a soft and light femininity.
Thanks to the collaboration with the fashion photographer Solve Sundsbo, Giorgio Armani had the pleasure to present a beautiful advertising campaign for the Autumn / Winter collection 2015/2016. The talented Vittoria Ceretti embodies perfectly the elegance of the fashion house.
Jil Sander unveiled their new advertising campaign carried out by the photographer Colloer Schorr under the artisitic direction of Brynn Hemingway.
The handsome bad boy Johnny Depp became the new face of the historical scent Eau Sauvage by Dior. For the « wild » beauty was this the first time, that he accepted to do such an advertising campaign for an haute couture fashion house. The perfumer François Demachy wanted the classical fragrance Eau Sauvage to become a contemporary perfume. The scent was first released in 1966. Who would have been more appropriate to embody the modern « savage » as Johnny Depp?
The fashion house Prada started a new adventure with its Spring/ Summer collection 2015, which was all « Psychedelic, Stoic, Intimate« . For that occasion Prada shot three short films, of whom each one presents you one of the three extraordinary universes.
The year 2015 reserved wonderful surprises for the Avenue Montaigne: le Plaza Athénée was happy to be honored with the price for the « most beautiful hotel suite in Europe », as well as with the highly desired World Luxury Hotel Award 2105 in Hong Kong.

In September, the fashion houses of the Avenue Montaigne and the Rue François 1er welcomed from dawn to the middle of the night, the big names of the wine and champagne network to celebrate the Vendanges 2015. A fairytale atmosphere, musical animations and delicious treats – every fashion house celebrated the evening its way. The Vendanges offer a sympathetic occasion to reunite an elegant public, who wishes to discover new collections and quality wines, following the « Spirit of Paris ». With this modern installation, the Montaigne Committée defends the « Art of living, Parisian chic and Elegance » while preserving a certain idea of luxury.
This years Vendanges of the Avenue Montaigne were a special edition: the event celebrated its 25th anniversary! Nathalie Vranken, spouse of Paul-François Vranken (owner of Champagne Pommery), created the event in 1989. She unveiled exclusively to us the original idea of this iconic event: « I had recently created my communication company and I suggested to Antoine Gridel, President of the Montaigne Committee, to organize the biggest Parisian evening event. My idea was to associate tasty quality wines and champagnes with the luxury fashion houses of the Avenue Montaigne to create the first Vendanges. »
On November 25th, followed the Election of the Catherinettes at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées. This day the Saint Catherine was honored. She is the guardian of young ladies over 25 years of age who are not married yet. Traditionally the fashion houses design several hats in green and yellow for the young ladies. Lots of fashion labels participated and every price found a beautiful, well-deserving winner.
In December the glittering Christmas lights, which everyone awaited for, were put up at the Avenue Montaigne and they shone like paillettes to announce the new year!
