Chloé’s Spring-Summer 2012 Show

For her first season with Chloé, ampoule creative director, Clare Waight Keller, closely studied the Chloé woman’s style and discovered numerous personalities who define the trademark.  “I observed them all, from celebrities of the red carpet, to the more  anonymous, and women such as Marie Helvin and Angelica Houston, photographed on a beach by David Bailey,” says Clare Waight Keller. “There’s an air of femininity, complicity, sensitive and sunny, that’s communicated by this collection.”

Powdery pastel shades, from pink to nude and accents both bright and subtle make up the palette for Spring 2012. The casual elegance of a shirt-dress in crepe de chine or in ethereal linen and cotton emphasizes the confident look and irresistible spontaneity of the Chloé style. Enhanced by a play of pleats and naïve floral prints, the season’s blouses are undeniably chic. Pleats are omnipresent in the collection, whether “plissés soleil”, silk inlays, or over printed pleats, mini and maxi florals, top and bottom, unmatched.  Jackets for Spring 2012, both soft and structured, are made of Cady silk. Pants are worn fluid, while shorts are available in different lengths from just below the knee to lingerie.

This season, Chloé proposes several new handbags, neatly constructed to play up the softness of the leather.  A mini clutch with an extra-wide strap, or an oversized clutch, a new shoulder chain bag, or large carry-all tote, all made in sumptuous materials, sensual leathers, exotic skins, enhanced by a palette of natural hues, with touches of bright accent colors.

Belts take on the look of jewelry, with mini necklace chains and elegant clasps.  Strappy sandals sparkle with mirrored silver and copper or python, and a new sling-back features loafer style front.

For the Spring 2012, the Chloé attitude will be resolutely modern and feminine, playing up spontaneous elegance and savvy charm, for a natural look marked by freshness and eclecticism.
