Prior to embarking on the buzz of Paris Fashion Week (which started yesterday), back to the Milan Fashion Week.
By zooming in on different collections, we find a beautiful array of colors and shapes, particularly at Prada, Gucci and Emilio Pucci.
Indeed, the Italian houses have experimented with geometry and flashy colors, setting the tone for next summer. Miuccia Prada was inspired by Mexican street art, and called on six local artists to decorate their silhouettes. Peter Dundas, made a nostalgic return to the 80s and 90s, inspired by Janet Jackson and Keith Haring. Frida Giannini chose a more sporty orientation and designed with psychedelic prints, always maintaining the chic look.
Heading towards the South and the Mediterranean with Dolce & Gabbana and Giorgio Armani. The kings of the Italian fashion have focused on the summer, airy side of fashion: Solar at Dolce & Gabbana and aquatic at Armani. The more traditional houses like Bottega Veneta and Max Mara drew in muted tones and classic cuts, giving women eternally elegant silhouettes. And for the grand finale, Jil Sander, Fendi and Marni who chose graphics and minimalism, to provide genuine cuts to the modern women.
Decidedly, these Italian know how to accomodate the tastes and moods of every woman … Let’s see if Paris measures up!
