While the Dior house presented its 2018 cruise line in California last year, it is in the heart of the Domaine de Chantilly that Dior will unveil its 2019 cruise on May 25th.
The Dior house will unveil its 2019 cruise line in the heart of the Grandes Ecuries of the Domaine de Chantilly, symbol of prestige and the French way of life.
Designed by the architect Jean Aubert for Louis-Henri de Bourbon, 7th Prince of Condé, the Grandes Ecuries are a jewel of 18th century architecture, next to one of the most beautiful racecourses in France.
The house should feel like home. Indeed, Jean Aubert is also the architect of Hôtel Biron, the building that houses the Musée Rodin, where Dior has organized a large number of its fashion and haute couture fashion shows in recent years.
Dior’s artistic director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, chose this location to echo the equestrian tradition of the house: its founder was known for his love of English Tweeds, traditionally worn on the racetracks. Christian Dior had also created famous Chantilly lace dresses. This parade is a real homecoming for the house.
