CHANEL MAKES FLOWERS IN HONOR IN HIS 2018 HAUTE COUTURE FASHION SHOW

Spring brings with it the most beautiful flowers. It is in a setting grove surrounded by a trellis gallery on which climbed roses, ivy and jasmine, with a fountain in its center, that Karl Lagerfeld invited his guests to discover the collection Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2018 CHANEL .

The models, adorned with flowery headdresses and veils, are camped on boots with transparent heels in tweed, leather or embroidered tulle, matching their outfit.

The CHANEL woman of the season hatches under layers of silk tulle, chiffon and organza pleated or embellished with sequined, beaded, stone and rhinestone botanical embroidery. Feathers caress her shoulders or ankles, or extend the woven tweed and matte satin.
Her femininity is expressed in a palette of soft hues: tender roses, coral, frosted lemon, mint green, gray and light taupe. It also asserts itself in more intense colors such as black, silver with bright chips, ink, fuchsia, chlorophyll green and electric blue.

Under the first rays of the sun, the iconic tweed tailor turns pale pink or white. Its straight or slightly trapeze jacket is defined by a loose collar, a new kimono sleeve revisited, a rounded shoulder and a slightly curved back. Beneath the chest, two slit pockets, sometimes smiling pockets laced, call to slip in the hands, in what Karl Lagerfeld called « the new attitude », full of strength and character.

The skirts of tailors, they open on plain and colorful satin that contrasts with the softness of tweed woven in shades alternately powdered, pink, green, orange, golden sand or black, and enhanced with neon son. The tailor also comes back in trompe-l’œil dress or coat dress, in long tunic or overcoat jacket accompanied by French skirts or panties. Each time, embroidered stripes highlight the structure and stitching of a jacket with highly technical construction.

The lines are superimposed, combining fineness and volume, in a cascade of floral embroidery, folds and flying air. Strapless mini dresses entirely embroidered with sequins are veiled with tulle embroidered with plumetis small delicate flowers, others are raised with a high-necked bib and stitched jewelry gallons, or long as a sheath on which arises the tulle of silk lace, ennobled with splinters of silver silicone. A cage dress embroidered and inflated with feathers crossed a long satin duchess dress whose outline is only jostled with an inflated skirt bottom of tulle.

Wisteria embroidery, bouquets of camellias, thoughts, anemones, buttercups and carnations flourish everywhere, while poppies print on the tulle of a ruffled dress and large flowers in watercolor tones are painted on a white background. long fluid and light skirt.

This Tuesday, January 23 at the Grand Palais, the Ambassadors of CHANEL Anna Mouglalis, Caroline de Maigret, Clotilde Hesme, Rinko Kikuchi, Yara Shahidi and Ellie Bamber as well as the director Sofia Coppola, the French actresses Isabelle Huppert, Marion Cotillard, Julia Roy and the writer Leila Slimani attended the presentation of CHANEL’s Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2018 collection and the springtime revival.
