The opening of the avenue Montaigne « promenade » exhibit took place last Thursday at the end of the day. For those who are not up to date with the news section of our site: for the first year, the Montaigne comitee and its fashion houses had the idea of creating an ephemeral exhibit. Each boutique picked an « exceptional object » to represent their brand. Previews, archives or original creations were exhibited as though they were museum pieces.
Thus, the mayor of the eighth arrondissement Francois Lebel, the Committee Chairman Jean-Claude Cathalan and Virginia Bamberger who originated this great project, invited us to inaugurate this promenade with them. All the fashion houses participated and exhibited beautiful presentations. It was quite fun to see Chanel’s public relations ambassador admiring the work on exhibit at Nina Ricci’s, the salesgirl from Zadig et Voltaire going to Dior ‘s to see their porcelain Lady bag. All this under the setting sun helped make this event a success, and an inspiration for further promenades….
