In 1926, Louis Vuitton signed its first perfume, “Heures d’absence”.  An appropriate name as the brand, thanks to Marc Jacobs’ creative genius, though very present in fashion news, does not appear by the side of the other scents in the perfume department. Indeed, for several years, no perfume has been signed LV.

Rest assured, since January 3rd, the master perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, to whom we owe Lancôme’s le « Poème », or YSL’s le « Cinéma » is working his nose to put finishing touches on the next scents of the brand.

The coming out date of these precious fragrances is of yet unknown, but the brand has decided they will only be available in Louis Vuitton boutiques.

These little chocolate hearts, presented in a case in the shape of an address book, will delight taste buds and the eyesight of all Valentines.

Last Monday in Dior’s private rooms, the brand presented its spring-summer haute-couture 2012 show. Still without an artistic director, the brand with this collection, paid homage to the know how of the workshops’ artisans.

The collection echoed the retro looks created by Christian Dior.  A sumptuous return to roots with a modern touch. 

An I-Pad sleeve, a pair of ballerina slip-ons, a candy pink resin bracelet, a pouch bearing Chanel’s emblematic camelia and several additional precious gifts make up this pearly collection in celebration of lasting love.

In Dior’s private rooms, at 30 Avenue Montaigne, the event this monday was the presentation of its spring-summer 2012 collection. Though still without an artistic director, the brand  paid hommage to the know-how of the house’s workshop and artisans.

After a small plunge in a marine environment, Chanel changes course and takes us up to the skies. Once again in its grand palais quarters, captain Lagerfeld welcome us aboard his Airbus 360 for immediate takeoff towards spring 2012.

The flight attendant models came down the central aisle. The blue tinted collection paid homage to the milky way with  scatterings of  beads and feathers amidst the chiffon and organza. The flight had a successful takeoff with distinguished passengers such as Vanessa Paradis, Clémence Poésy, Diane Kruger and Cameron Diaz.

Not easy to land after this flight on the Chanel airline!

Tuesday, at Armani’s Prive Haute Couture show, applause was heard even before the start of the collection.  The actress Jessica Chastain seated in the front row, had just heard on the phone that she had been nominated to the Oscars for her supporting role in “The Help”. Laugh attack with her friend Cameron Diaz (in an Armani suit) and effervescence in the audience.  This started the show on a hopeful note and dresses as green as Granny Smiths’opened the ball.  A universe of reptiles, crocodiles, scales; Giorgio seemed to have been influenced by an aquatic theme.  Some of the outfits with embroidered layers were quite reminiscent of mermaid dresses.

Perhaps the actress spotted the dress that will lead her straight to the Oscar. It’s all we wish for her.

The vast majority of the outfits were evening dresses; some accessorized with an embroidered legging. An atmosphere of Glam kitch and sequins that remained very luxurious.  This summer, Zuhair Murad’s woman will sparkle.
