After the new edition of Christian Dior’s autobiography, here is another work, equally noteworthy: “Chanel: Figures du Style”.
More than yet another book about the history of the fashion house of the rue Cambon, this work by journalist Jérôme Gautier offers a visual record of the evolution of the Chanel style through different periods. Here, more than 300 photos by the greatest fashion photographers including Patrick Demarchelier, Mario Testino, Jean-Paul Goude and, of course, Karl Lagerfeld, pay tribute to the codes of this famous luxury trademark.
Photos pulled from archives, mythical shots, fashion shows, past and present mix from page to page and show that from Gabrielle to Lagerfeld, the characteristic Chanel style lives on.
Chanel : Figure de style by Jérôme Gautier, 70€, published by la Martinière.
