From 25 October 2014 to 22 February 2015, ampoule as part of its thirtieth anniversary, healing the Cartier Foundation for Contemporary Art presents Ballade pour a glass box (Musings on a Glass Box), an installation designed by the design studio and architecture Diller Scofidio + Renfro.
For the first time in the history of the Cartier Foundation, the building designed by Jean Nouvel is the raw material for an art project. Deployed throughout the ground floor of the Fondation Cartier, Musings on a Glass Box is a complex installation based on the trigger by a simple disturbance in the ceiling, a series of unexpected reactions. The resulting immersive environment, which includes a musical score created by composer David Lang and sound designer Jody ELFF play a full part, establishes a dialogue with the architecture of the building plays with the notions of transparency and perception and question our relationship to space.
